The £1,000 deposit is non-refundable because it secures your chosen wedding date exclusively for you. Once reserved, we stop offering that date to other couples.

We also begin preparing for your wedding immediately, including making the necessary administrative arrangements, contacting Kent County Council where required and allocating your planning support team.

This makes the arrangement fair to everyone considering the date and allows your preparations to begin straight away.

Many couples choose to take out wedding insurance, which may cover cancellation or postponement costs depending on the circumstances and the terms of the policy. We recommend researching the available options and arranging your own cover if you feel it is right for you.

Most couples book 12 to 24 months in advance, particularly for Saturdays and summer dates.

However, late-availability dates are released throughout the year, and our experienced team can confidently plan and organise your wedding with as little as three months’ notice.

If it rains, your ceremony simply moves from The Terrace into The Buttery, which is also fully licensed for civil ceremonies.

Nothing about your legal ceremony changes, and there is no need for last-minute rearrangements because the indoor alternative is already prepared.

In our experience, even on the rare occasions when it rains, it seldom lasts all day. Your photographer can make the most of breaks in the weather, alongside our beautiful indoor spaces and covered areas, ensuring you still have a wonderful collection of photographs.

The Glasshouse is a fully enclosed reception space, and its retractable domed roof can be closed if the weather changes. The Lounge Bar and The Buttery also remain available throughout your celebration, whatever the conditions.

We love Intimate Weddings here at The Glasshouse! Our Intimate Wedding is priced and structured having a 30 to 40 guest list and a wedding day from 12 noon to 9pm. Couples can add more guests as well as an evening reception or hotel bedrooms. We can prepare a bespoke quote to include those extras.

The Dinner Party Twilight and Original Twilight are designed as two distinct formats, each with its own dining style, guest capacity and flow. You will therefore choose one format for your celebration that suits you and your guests best, although your coordinator can help personalise the details within your chosen option.

Not at all. Late-availability dates are simply dates that remain available closer to the time. You will still enjoy the same exclusive-use venue, in-house catering, dedicated coordinator, honeymoon suite and all the features of your chosen wedding collection. It is a truly and full celebration, simply planned on a shorter timescale.

Definitely! The Terrace is fully licensed for civil ceremonies, allowing you to legally marry outdoors, surrounded by the Kent countryside.

We will contact Kent County Council - KCC - directly to book your ceremony slot once your date is confirmed and deposit paid. You'll still need to give Notice of Marriage yourselves, in person, at a register office in the district where you live.

At least 28 days before your ceremony if you're both British or Irish nationals, or at least 70 days if either of you isn't, since additional immigration checks apply. Notice is valid for 12 months.

This fee is set by the registration service, not by The Glasshouse, and is paid separately from your venue package. See our Civil Ceremony Licensing page, we've linked to Kent County Council's current fees rather than quoting a figure that may change.

Yes, at least two, who sign the marriage schedule alongside you and the registrar on the wedding day.

No, civil ceremonies cannot include religious wording, hymns, or readings from religious texts. Non-religious readings, songs or music are permitted.

You'll need to give notice at least 70 days before your ceremony rather than 28, and may need additional documentation relating to your immigration status. Speak to your local register office directly for guidance specific to your situation.

The Bull Hotel has 9 individually styled double en-suite bedrooms plus the honeymoon suite which is reserved for the couple.

We recommend that the couple reserves the bedrooms and decides how they are allocated. You know your guests and their individual needs best, so you can choose the most suitable room for each person.

Yes. A Full English breakfast is served on the morning after your wedding. On any additional mornings, guests staying in our bedrooms can enjoy a continental breakfast.

The Honeymoon Suite with pamper room facilities will be available for you to get ready with your make-up artist and hairdresser. The room will be reorganised for you to spend the night as newly wedded. 

The Honeymoon Suite with pamper room facilities is a spacious room for the bridal party to get ready. If your wider party is staying overnight beforehand, they can also get ready in their own bedrooms.

The Glasshouse is a 126m² purpose-built glass structure, with a retractable domed roof, holding up to 80 seated guests and 120 standing. 

The Buttery Barn is a 16th-century building, originally used as a pantry to store food, wine and beer for the estate.

It is a romantic setting for a wedding ceremony, full of caracther with capacity for 80 guests.

For the perfect flow, ceremonies take place in The Buttery or on The Terrace before celebrations move naturally into The Glasshouse for the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
