Events Team of the Year

Kent Wedding Awards

2023 / 2024

We won the 'Events Team Of The Year' category at the Kent Wedding Awards 2023/2024

We truly are over the moon and beyond grateful to win this award, and our team had an amazing evening celebrating with a range of the best wedding venues and suppliers from across Kent.

The events team at The Buttery & Glasshouse is a diverse group of professionals working together to deliver memorable weddings. The whole team come together in synchronisation led by the wedding coordinators Leigh Anne, Emma and Catherine.

The team focuses on building the couple’s confidence. It’s a journey we embark on and by the end, our couples are reassured and ready to experience their wedding day...in the moment. On the day itself the wedding coordinator role comes into its own. Nothing is more important than ensuring that a married couple has relinquished all of their last-minute worries and wobbles.

At the very heart of everything we do is an overriding sense of service to ensure that our couples feel confident, relaxed and at ease throughout the whole process.

In-house team

An in-house team - 100% made up by professionals employed by The Bull on a permanent basis, a team who knows every part of the business and every corner of the venue.

A multidisciplinary team - composed of chefs, kitchen porters, housekeeping, front of house, ground maintenance, breakfast servers and the dedicated wedding coordinators. Each member of the team prides themselves on making every couple feel truly special.

Holistic approach

The team’s holistic approach encompasses the wider network involved in the delivery of the wedding. Suppliers and registrars are always welcome to visit the venue in advance to understand the venue and the ethos of the team. This helps to integrate all the elements and plays a huge role in the smooth running of the couple’s wedding day.

In-house catering

The Bull’s ten years’ experience as an AA Rosette restaurant has influenced a deliciously wholesome and truly memorable choice of wedding breakfast menus with both classic and quirky options to impress.

A true foodie paradise with crafted canapés, artisan pizzas, cheese and charcuterie spreads, grazing tables, smokehouse feasts, wholesome desserts, three-course wedding breakfasts, festival food stalls… all prepared using local suppliers, family run farms and artisan producers.

Open-door policy

A huge advantage of being a wedding venue in an inn is that we have an open-door policy encouraging couples to visit the venue regularly and get to know the team and the space.

Many couples visit The Bull Hotel on a number of occasions before their wedding day: showing bridesmaids the space, rehearsing with photographers, testing colours with florists, measuring the rooms for the decoration, enjoying a hotel stay overnight with dinner or bringing their family for a Sunday roast lunch.

Couples get to know the team further and the team gets to know them, building up a strong relationship and understanding. This in turn, helps the couple feel confident and at ease in their surroundings before the big day.

Crafting weddings

When it comes down to crafting weddings, 2 words are key to the wedding team skill and care.

Skill to listen Whilst actively listening we can mentally organise the logistics and schedule of the wedding journey.

Skill to plan and carefully incorporate budget limitations, family dynamics, catering restrictions, tailoring menus and drinks list, allocating hotel rooms, organising payment plans, liaising with suppliers, allocating staff, answering to limitless emails and phone calls.

Skill to deliver the wedding on the day itself. We manage the energy, guide the suppliers, staff and host all the guests, all while keeping the focus on the couple. Everything will be looked after by the team: decoration, cleaning, hotel rooms, suppliers and registrars, music, wedding breakfast, toasts, speeches, cake, first dance… the list is endless!

What the judges say...

"Demonstrating both a very strong in-house and multidisciplinary team, to ensure that no part of the wedding planning process is left wanting, the Judges praised the Buttery & Glasshouse for its professional collaborative approach to customer care and a real need to ensure that every client’s wedding is the most important for them."
